Fall Line Brewing Co. Coming to Downtown Macon in 2020

The fall line is one of Georgia’s most important and fascinating geologic features. Once the area where the prehistoric ocean’s shoreline lay, the gently sloping line created waterfalls and rapids and became a natural barrier that separated the Piedmont and Coastal Plains. The line became a home for cities (Macon included) that were centers of manufacturing and transportation due to water power and accessibility. The great minds behind Just Tap’d and Ocmulgee Brewpub are giving a nod to this distinct feature with their newest ventures: Fall Line Brewing Co.– and Fall Line Station, an attached event space named after the train trestle repurposed to support the roof– will open their doors at 567 Plum Street downtown in early 2020.

“Breweries are great for tourism and great representations of local culture,” says Kaitlynn Kressin, Director of Marketing and Communications. “We’re excited for what that means for Macon.” The 6,000 square foot brewery will have a 15 barrel brewhouse system and 30 barrel fermenters, making some of the tanks four times the size of those at OBP. Doug Evans will be head brewmaster at Fall Line, working alongside several assistant brewers who will help make, clean, keg, and can the beer.

“Our focus will be on distribution so that you can pick up cans in your favorite local package store to drink at home, buy it on draught at your favorite local bar, or have a glass with dinner at your favorite local restaurant. We’re excited to sell our beer across the state of Georgia and really put Macon on the map for craft beer,” says Kressin. In addition to the 24 beers on tap, Fall Line Brewing Co. will also offer delicious, piled-high sandwiches, house-made soups, and other delights to pair with your beer and share with your pals.

The 6,000 square foot outdoor beer garden will have a large fire pit, a stage, and plenty of seating and games. The 14,000 square foot Fall Line Station will offer a full-service bar, seating for up to 200 guests, break-out rooms, bride and groom suites, and a VIP area, making it the perfect centralized location to accommodate everything from state-wide conferences and corporate events to weddings, meetings, and holiday parties.

Kressin hopes that this new offering will do its part in making Downtown Macon a destination location for beer lovers. Construction on Fall Line Brewing Co. should be complete in early 2020, so watch out for that. “We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on!” says Kressin.
