The Warner Robins Demons enter week four following a 49-14 home win over Clarke Central in the quarterfinals. The team is now 12-1 overall in 2019. WR will play at home one more time this Friday night as they host the Starr’s Mill Panthers. The victor of this semifinal matchup will travel to the Georgia State Stadium (formerly Turner Field) for the 5A State Finals. Starr’s Mill went into overtime last week in their matchup against Dutchtown. The Panthers went for 2 in the final seconds and just barely won 25-24. It’s unlikely the Panther’s lucky streak will continue this week as the Demons are heavily favored to win. Whoever advances to the finals will next face either Buford or Jones Co.
The Jones Co Greyhounds came back and decimated Griffin 49-14 last week after trailing 14-7 at the half. The team is now 12-1 overall in 2019. For the first time in the school’s history, The Greyhounds have made it to the semifinals. They won’t have much time to celebrate however as this week they take on the Buford Wolves. The Wolves have a seasoned football program that’s been a powerhouse for the last 15 years. The Greyhounds will be the undeniable underdogs this week, but Jones Co is more than capable of taking them down. The game could quite possibly go down to the final-buzzer or even overtime. The winner will advance to the finals and take on either Starr’s Mill or Warner Robins.

The Crisp Co Cougars advance to the semifinals following last week’s 22-20 home win over Jefferson. The team is now 10-3 overall. The Cougars have a tough game this Friday as they host the visiting Jenkins Warriors. It’s a clash of titans as both teams are ranked in the 3A top 10. The teams are so similar in terms of stats and overall records, predicting the winner is a complete toss-up. Whoever does come out on top will next take on either Callaway or Brooks Co in the state finals.
Class AA
The Dublin Fighting Irish come into week 4 following a 35-12 home-win over Hapeville Charter. The team is now 12-1 overall in 2019. The Irish lost the coin flip and will be traveling to take on the Thomasville Bulldogs this Friday. Thomasville last week defeated Rabun Co 38-24 in a stunning upset victory. Dublin is still heavily favored to win this game and seemingly favored to win it all in AA. Assuming Thomasville doesn’t pull out another surprise victory, Dublin will next face either Callaway or Brooks Co in the state finals.
