Wesleyan College offers a limited number of community memberships to Mathews Athletic Center. The center provides women and men with a safe and conveniently located health club option in North Macon. Choose from a variety of classes ranging from fitness, yoga, and meditation plus state-of-art training equipment.
Community Membership (All Ages)
Includes access to Cybex strength training equipment, free weights, recumbent bikes, treadmills, steppers, elliptical machines, yoga, Tai Chi, Cycle, RIP barbell, ZUMBA, Barre, sculpting, Senior Programming, tennis courts, and walking trails in the Arboretum. Family discounts are available.
Health 2 You (Age 50+)
The H2U program is run through the Coliseum Health System and dedicated to helping individuals 50+ manage their health and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. The H2U basic membership includes the use of the cardio/weight room of Mathews Athletic Center from 9am-12pm, Monday through Friday (after an orientation with a fitness instructor).
Silver Sneakers (Medicare-eligible adults)
A no-cost basic membership offered to Medicare-eligible and group retiree members of participating health plans. Call 1-888-423-4632.
Special precautions are in place to protect your health and safety during the coronavirus pandemic. Everyone entering Mathews Athletic Center will have a contactless temperature taken. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be allowed to enter. It is best to take your own temperature before leaving home in case the MAC is not staffed.
All rooms have been given an occupancy capacity with enforced social distancing requirements. National Housekeeping Service and Mathews Athletic Center employees will clean and disinfect common spaces and high touch areas often, however, patrons are required to wipe down the equipment before and after use in group fitness classes and in the weight room. Cleaning spray and paper towels will be provided.
When not working out, cloth or procedural masks must be worn when in the presence of others. Masks with vents are not acceptable.
All patrons need to supply their own yoga mat and towel.
