The team’s last in-person IHSA Horse Show will be at the College of Charleston on Saturday, March 13th, 2021.
Equestrian Team Members are busy submitting videos of rides at home for the IHSA Virtual Spring Series and the IDA Digital Spring Series. The team participated in the Inaugural IHSA Virtual Horse Show and IDA Digital Horse Show in the fall and is looking forward to the spring series.
The team is also grateful to all the donors that have supported the program and for the new covered arena that allowed them to keep riding and practicing even with heavy recent rains.
COVID-19 restrictions have altered how many riders are allowed to attend each IHSA show, but all team members and community riders will be able to compete at home on Saturday, April 17th as part of the Wesleyan College Equestrian Spring Schooling Horse Show.
Wesleyan will also be celebrating Senior Equestrian Team Members in April. This includes a Birthday Celebration for Senior Equine Team Member SCOUT, born April 4th, 1989 in Rhode Island, SCOUT is still going strong teaching riders long after his success as a winning racehorse in his early career! He has outlived most of his fellow equines born in 1989 and the equestrian team has something special planned to mark the occasion! (HINT: SCOUT loves peppermints and carrots!)
