William Prince sings a song like it’s meant to be sung– as if every word is gospel. The proud member of the Peguis First Nations community and resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada released his debut album Earthly Days in 2015, followed by the Dave Cobb-produced Reliever in pre-pandemic 2020 and the country-spiritual Gospel First Nation later that same year. Prince’s latest effort, Stand In The Joy, extols the many virtues of love– and of course, the perils. Delivered in Prince’s signature low tenor, a smooth earthy instrument all its own, the songs on Stand In The Joy promote a life to aspire to in warm tones, ever finding the beauty in even the darkest of moments.
