On this edition of Handful O’ Nickels, Aaron Irons welcomes singer, songwriter, and producer Sean McConnell! Born in Athol, Massachusetts, Sean began writing songs when he was eleven years old after his family relocated to Marietta, Georgia. Next came college and Music City, where Sean rapidly established a reputation before landing a publishing deal that would see him go on to write with and for a variety of artists including Little Big Town, Wade Bowen, Ashley Ray, Randy Rogers, Tim McGraw, Chris Knight, and many, many more. Renowned as a savvy facilitator in the studio as well as the writing room, McConnell’s ability to wring the very best from a collaborator is only matched by the emotional and revelatory passion of his solo work, as delivered in chest-welling waves on his latest effort A Horrible, Beautiful Dream.
On Thursday, August 24th, Sean McConnell will be in Macon, GA, making his Grant’s Lounge debut with the duo of Bowen Young, but before then, Sean agreed to share some songs and stories from his career as well as from some of his friends and favorite creators.
