Valdosta State earned one of the four No. 1 seeds for the NCAA Division II football playoffs, which begin on Saturday. The Blazers have a bye into the second round.
Valdosta State will host the winner of No. 4 Miles and Carson-Newman at 1 p.m. on Nov. 30. The other first-round games in Valdosta State’s super regional are No. 2 Wingate vs. Virginia Union and No. 3 West Alabama vs. Lenoir-Rhyne.
The other No. 1 seeds are Kutztown, Ferris State and CSU Pueblo. The complete bracket can be found here.
Valdosta State won its 11th Gulf South Conference championship on Saturday, beating West Florida 28-7.
The Blazers (10-0 this season) are 31-15 all-time in the playoffs in 19 trips. Valdosta State has won four national titles with six trips to the championship game, both numbers tied for third most in Division II history.
