Charley Crockett to Release ‘The Man From Waco’ on 9/9, Drops New Single

Charley Crockett is set to release his twelfth studio album on September 9th, 2022. Titled The Man From Waco, Charley and his Blue Drifters recorded the new project straight to tape with producer Bruce Robison at his Bunker studio in Lockhart, TX.

Though a dedicated student of classic country and hillbilly music, the lead single, “I’m Just A Clown”, showcases Charley’s long-established appetite for blues and soul, evoking hints of Curtis Mayfield and B.B. King with horns, strings, and subtle organ.

A few of The Man From Waco’s original tracks that have been making the rounds with Charley for some time but are finally enjoying the studio treatment include “Cowboy Candy”, “Time Of The Cottonwood Trees”, “All The Way From Atlanta”, “July Jackson”, and “Name On A Billboard”, while elsewhere, Charley resurrects “Trinity River” from his 2015 debut, A Stolen Jewel.
