Macon’s Marie Ortiz Drops New Single “Butterflies Again”

Marie Ortiz has released “Butterflies Again”, a new single slated to be part of a 13-song full-length currently in production that according to the Macon singer-songwriter will reveal “a really stripped-back view of my life experiences in the past year or two.”

Latin and R&B flavors dominate the pop-ish “Butterflies Again”, a cut searching for the core excitement of new love or rekindled emotion edged along by pizzicato guitar and tic-tac-y bass.

“I wrote “Butterflies Again” on St. Patrick’s day last year on the back of a napkin at Cheers on Northside Drive,” says Ortiz. “It’s crazy to think how far the song has come. I wrote the song when I was at a crossroads with love and I was questioning if there was anything really special out there for me.”

Smartly produced by Steven Ledbetter (The Mulberries, Rachel Forehand), who also holds down drum and bass duties, the track features Wyatt Pyles on guitar and percussionist Shane Mantey. A follow-up single, “Call Me Baby”, is scheduled to be released on April 16th.

“Butterflies Again” is available now on all major digital platforms.
