Creekside Sports: Five Central Georgia football teams advance to GHSA quarterfinals

The GHSA’s second-round football playoff games were played Friday night, and several Central Georgia teams won to advance to the quarterfinals.

In Class 5A, Warner Robins used a walk-off field goal to knock off Ware County 23-21 and will host Creekside in the quarterfinals.

In Class 4A, Perry edged Bainbridge 7-3 and will travel to Stephenson next week.

In Class 3A, Mary Persons controlled the game from the start to beat Crisp County 42-20. The Bulldogs advance to host Cedar Grove.

In Class 1A-Division II, Macon County (38-35 over Aquinas) and Dooly County (28-25 over Jenkins County) both advanced. Macon County will play at Telfair County next week, while Dooly County will play at Bowdon.
