Charlie Starr, lead vocalist and guitarist for American rock band Blackberry Smoke, will be joined by longtime friend and musician, Benji Shanks, for an intimate performance. The pair will be performing acoustic arrangements of songs Starr has penned as well as some of their favorite songs by other artists.

Starr is a native of Lanett, Alabama and was born into a musical family. His grandfather was in a well-known gospel band, his grandmother played mandolin and piano and his father, an accomplished guitarist, introduced him to the instrument that would lead to his career in music.

Blackberry Smoke fans are anxiously waiting the release of the band’s new album, Be Right Here, set to drop on February 16 and available for pre-order here. The first single, “Dig A Hole,” is in regular rotation on Macon’s 100.9 The Creek. The band’s last album, You Hear Georgia, debuted as the best-selling Americana/Folk album in the country in May of 2021, and the album Live From Capricorn Sound Studios was recorded in Macon in 2020 just after the historic studio was renovated and opened back up for business.
